Curtaining material accurately cut into sheets and strips - using electrical resistance wire pref. incorporated into material during manufacture

Method of cutting a single piece of textile, esp. curtaining material, into sheets, pref. into a single wide curtain and one or more narrower strips or ties, is as follows. One or more electrical resistance wires are laid in the sheet to the desired contour, an electrical voltage is applied to a longitudinal portion of the wires and the material is thus burnt or melted along the cutting lines. Pref. the electrical resistance wires may be incorporated into the textile during its mfr. by guiding them along the desired cutting lines between the meshes of the sheet. The sheet may be pressed in the zone of the heated resistance wire. Curtaining material made in large sizes can be rapidly and neatly cut to the desired smaller size.
