The apparatus is used medically for a controlled decoaptation of a limb and comprises a vertical stand fitted with a pivotable arm. The free end of this is bent downwards, forming a support for a cable applying longitudinal traction to the limb. Slings along the length of the arm support the limb freely and an initial transverse tension is applied by means of an adjustable pad. The necessary transversal traction is provided by a separate arm adjustable for position along the support arm. Both forces of traction are applied by weights on the ends of flexible cables.
