Automatic bottle handling machine - unpacks bottles from container and includes jig which corrects misalignment of bottles

An operating head (1) can be lowered and raised and moved laterally with respect to an open container in which rows of bottles are stowed. Bearing plates and vertical pins (4) depending from the head constitute a jig for correcting misalignment of the bottles. The bearing plates descent between two opposed sides of the container and the adjacent rows of bottles. The pins are located so as to touch the outer walls of the second row of bottles in from the opposed other sides of the container, when the head is lowered. Final alignment of the bottles is effected by opposed grippers (2) of known type which are subsequently closed to grip the neck of the bottle which is between them.
