Ultraviolet tube of a steriliser comprising, in addition to the tube an envelope through which the fluid to be sterilised passes, can be replaced very easily, since the sealing system is neither complicated nor of the semi-permanent type produced by glueing. Each end of the tube is enclosed by an 'O' ring pressed into the envelope. If high pressures are used, a second 'O' ring ensures that the first cannot be blown out.
