1502446 Tryptophan and its derivatives BOFORS AB 28 Feb 1975 [5 March 1974] 8570/75 Heading C2C L-Tryptophan and its derivatives of formula where R is hydrogen, hydroxyl, alkyl or alkoxy are made by a fermentation process using indole or indole derivatives of formula the fermentation being effected in a substrate having methanol as the main carbon source. The substrate also contains the usual inorganic salts and, possibly, glycine. Specified microorganisms are Pseudomonas AMI and Methylmonas methanolica.
