1503868 Refining Cu and Cu alloys CSEPELI FEMMU 22 Oct 1976 [24 Oct 1975] 43903/76 Heading C7D Molten Cu or Cu alloy is treated by addition of 0À01-0À075 wt per cent of ZrB 2 , based on the weight of the bath, and is then cast and coldrolled with 70-99% reduction. The ZrB 2 may be added as a master alloy with Cu, while up to one half of the Zr content of the diboride may be replaced by Ti, V, Nb, Ca, Mg and/or Co. Optionally metallic Zr may also be added in an amount stoichiometrically equivalent to the Pb content of the alloy in excess of 0À015%.
