PURPOSE:To lighten and reduce the work of connecting and opening a phase separation bus when operating a characteristic test of the synchronous machine, by assembling an auxiliary transformer of small capacity, for a detection of synchronous signal, into the power transformer in the generating station. CONSTITUTION:In addition to an excitation transformer 10, normally constituted by an excitation power transformer 11 and a synchronous signal detecting transformer 12, is provided a combined use testing power transformer 18, constituted by a power use transformer 19 and an auxiliary transformer 20 for detecting a synchronous signal. A provision of such combined use testing power transformer 18 can make the operation of short-circuit or opening circuit, in a convenient manner as required for testing, at a point B or C, without making an operation of opening and connection at a point A of an output circuit 2.
