摘要

PURPOSE:To prepare an alkylresorcinol derivative having mild ractivity with aldehydes by adding an alkylresorcinol with a polyisocyanate compound; and to obtain a stable curable resin composition by condensing the above derivative with an aldehyde. CONSTITUTION:An alkylresorcinol derivative (III) wherein at least a part of the OH groups are blocked with NCO groups, is prpared by reacting an alkylresorcinol compound (I) (crude shale oil resorcinol, a compound obtained by adding a phenol having two or moe active sites to the above resorcinol, etc.) with a polyisocyanate compound (II). The molar ratio of OH in the compound I to NCO in the compound II is less than 1 (pref. less than 0.5). A stable curable resin composition is prepared from the derivative (III) and an aldehyde. The compound (III) and isocyanate group produced by the thermal cleavage of the resin increase the strength of the resin.
