PURPOSE:To form powder raw material filled layers in a capsule by using centrifugal force due to rotation of the capsule prior to sintering of a composite product composed of a plurality of layers in the circumferential direction by hot hydrostatic pressing. CONSTITUTION:Capsule 1 is mounted on rotary stand 4 in pit 6 and rotated at high speed together with stand 4. Metal powder for forming the outermost layer is first charged into capsule 1 from supply inlet 8 of cover 7 loosely covered on capsule 1. The powder forms a layer on the inner wall of capsule 1 by means of centrifugal force. At this time, movable partition plate 3 is brought into contact with the inside of the metal powder layer to prevent disorder of the layer boundary. Next, plate 3 is moved to the central side of capsule 1, and the second layer is similarly formed inside the outermost layer. Thus, 2-5 composite layers are formed while using centrifugal force and moving plate 3. The capsule is then degassed, hermetically sealed, and subjected to hot hydrostatic pressing to obtain a composite sintered material.
