Asphalt floor laying method - involves material spread in strips by spreader and distributor overhanging previously laid strip

Method for laying a cover layer on a floor uses a compsn. of minerals and a binder, partic. asphalt, the compsn. being spread over the floor in a heated condition and evenly disributed. The cover layer is applied in strips, each strip adjoining the next, so that the material of a strip to be laid in is spread alongside the previously laid strip (17). Use is made of a spreader and distributor devce (12) with an underside which is partly composed of a single surface. This underside is allowed to support against and overhang the previously laid strip of material (17) which is still warm and not yet set. The device (12) is moved forward over this previously laid strip and spreads out the newly tipped warm material, sealing it against the previous strip.
