Within the air guide channels (6) located in the vehicle body pillar is housed a blower, pref. a tangential blower (11). The channel has an inlet (7) and outlet (8) each covered by a permeable screen (9, 10). In one design, the air guide channel is open towards the side window pane located in front of the pillar. In a second variation, the channel is only open towards the rear side window and has a suction opening in its lower region near which the blower is positioned. The design ensures that, under all conditions, the rear side window is kept free of misting.
