1462333 Pneumatic tools ATLAS COPCO AB 17 Feb 1975 [22 Feb 1974] 6580/75 Heading B4C In a pneumatically driven tool a hammer piston 13 is guided by piston-rods 14 and whilst the driving air for the piston is free from lubricant since the piston has an annular clearance around it, oil is supplied to the bearings for the piston-rod 14 which bearings in conjunction with the rear part of the piston-rod actuate an axially slidable valve 20 to control the flow of driving air alternately to each side of the piston. Driving air is supplied through inlet pipe 21 and oil laden air through pipe 41. The piston is cushioned for idle blows by the space 12a and its return motion is cushioned by compression in space 12b at the last part of its return motion.
