1531756 Forming tubes SEMPERIT AG 24 Sept 1975 [27 Sept 1974] 39053/75 Heading F2P A tube-winding or hose-winding device comprises a winding mandrel, and a unit having a band reel, a rotatable band guide and a non- rotary, hollow, perforated band guide, the mandrel and unit being rotatable and advanceable relative to one another, whereby in use compressed air escapes outwardly through the perforations of the non-rotary guide to cushion the running band. A band from reel 3, Fig. 2, is fed about roller 7 and fixed element 8 on to mandrel 1, which advances leftwards, to form tube or hose 6. The angle of element 8, Fig. 3, relative to the'mandrel may be adjusted, as indicated by pointer 9 and a scale. Means 10 enables element 8 to be positioned vertically. Element 8, Fig. 4, has perforations 13 through which compressed air is blown to reduce band friction. Perforations outside the band width may be blanked off by right-cylindrical sleeves moved within the element. Roller 7 may be driven and/or braked.
