The frame mounted blades on the frame saw are compressed together with intervening space retainers, and with hydraulically activated pistons for pressing pressure flaps agians the set of saws. - Here, under increasing hydraulic force, additional friction forces occur between hydraulic piston (23) and cylider (22) and/or between the pressure plate (19) and an additional support plate (42). The pressure plate may fit with a pressure point against the piston set off-centre on the latter. There may be an intervening lug with its fitting surfaces mutually offset sideways, and pref. running at an angle to the piston's longitudinal centre line. This prevents oscillations from damaging or destroying sealing on the piston.
