The slip signal generator finds application in controlling the load on an a synchronous system coupling machine. The slip between a three phase and single phase system is established by passing the three phase signals through two transformers to a series of switches (5a-5f; 10a-10f) and filters (6, 7, 8; 11, 12, 13). The switches are connected with the centre tapped secondary windings (4a-4c; 9a-9c) of the transformers (4, 9). - The switches are controlled by the phase signal (17) via a compensator (3) which ensures that the slip frequency signal output is in phase with the three phase input (14). The circuit replaces a rotating machine fulfilling the same function.
