Sack mouth closing machine - has swing frame with arm delivering and pressing mouth into die

The machine presses and clamps the edges of the sack mouth together before fitting a fastener. A die on a support accommodates the mouth and a frame swings on the support between an open position and a closed one near the die. A long arm mounted near one end of the frame swings to and from the die so as to move the mouth onto it, and a rucking unit on the arm has an edge by which the mouth is forced in a direction at right angles to that in which the arm moves it. The rucking unit can pivot on the arm on placing the mouth in the die, and can move under gravity from the outer to the inner position. The arm can actuate an ejector plate removing the mouth from the die after the fastener has been fitted.
