Devices for synchronising mechanical oscillating systems with quartz accuracy are known, in which an actual signal is tapped from the oscillating system and compared for phase with clock pulses of a quartz oscillator. To achieve synchronisation, the electromagnetic drive torque is changed in accordance with this phase comparison. These devices are suitable only for synchronising electromagnetically driven oscillating systems, and deliver a narrow synchronisation range. In order also to synchronise mechanically driven oscillating systems with quartz accuracy, use is made according to the invention of an electromagnetic transducer (14, 15) which is independent of the drive of the oscillating system and under the control of the phase comparison exerts an additional synchronising torque on the oscillating system. The additional synchronising torque can act outside the zero crossing of the oscillating system (4) and permits a large synchronisation range. The phase-comparison stage is constructed in a particularly simple and energy-saving way as an AND gate (13). IMAGE
