摘要
Metal chelates of uracil-4-methyliminodiacetic acid of formula (I) with gamma-emitting radioisotopes are new. (I) is made by reacting a 2-chloromthyluracil with iminodiacetic acid. The chelates are used for highly-selective visualisation of tumours in animals. (I) is itself a new cpd., and is pref. converted to chelates with gamma-emitting In or Tc. In a trial the In-133m chelate was injected (0.05 mg. in 0.1 ml.) into mice with tumours. The radioactivity of the tumours (counts per min. per g.) was then 2x105 compared with 105 for the leg. Using the In-133m chelate of diethylene triamine pentacetic acid instead the figures were about 5000 for the tumour and 20000 for the leg.
