Venting duct for steering rack - includes venting space about rack bearing under flexible bellows cover

The steering rack is covered by a flexible bellows with the rack housing end having a mounting flange over which the end of the bellows is secured. The flange has a venting duct (9) around its circumference while the trapped part of the bellows has a venting hole (10) in the bottom part of the enclosed space formed with the duct. Air can enter and leave through the venting duct without any fluid being lost from the rack. The rack housing is vented to the space by a duct (5) through the mounting flange.
