A pivoting beam carries a pump head at one end from which a rope drops to the pump rod guide. The pump head is attached to the beam by two rods, one on each side of the beam. The head has flanges on each side which match flanges on each side of the end of the beam. Swivel screws with wind nuts hold each pair of flanges together. When the screws on the top and bottom flanges on one side are slackened the head is free to pivot about the rod on the ohter side. Thus a simple mechanism enables the head to be swivelled to either side as required for greater ease of maintenance.
