The servo drive mechanism comprises an electric/hydraulic/pneumatic/magnetic or mechanical servo controlled by a stepping motor or synchronous motor via a coupling. The servo-drive is connected to a power supply and the stepping motor is controlled via sequential signals or other data. With this type of control no positional feed-back is required and each movement can be controlled by easily-stored signals in a timed sequence. In the event of overshoot, only the servo-drive overshoots and the positional accuracy, speed and acceleration can be selected as required. The drive system is designed for particularly complex movements.
