The separating plant consists of a housing in the lower part of which chambers are provided. The chambers receive compressed air through pipes. The chambers are covered by a screen consisting of perforated, or slotted sheet metal or fabric. Adjacent to the first chamber, the material inlet is fitted distributing the material by means of proportionating wheel onto the screen. By introducing compressed air through pipes the material is whirled up and creates above the perforated sheet a turbulent layer which continually moves in one direction. Above the chamber, a matrix wheel is provided with part of its circumference penetrating into the surface of the chamber. In this area the inside of the matrix wheel is provided with a coil by which the matrix is magnetized and the particles cling to the inner surface. When, during the rotation of the wheel the particles are lifted out of the influence of the magnetic field, they drop into the chute.
