The probe is esp. for copy milling machines. To enable the feeler head (12) to move in one plane, the head and sten (11) is mounted in a support (7) with flange (8). The flange is free to move in one plane guide by faces in a cap with which the feeler is mounted on the probe. The feeler is supported on slide bearings in the support (7) so that it can be moved axially. The part spherical top end (14) of the stem is mounted with a sleeve nut in a countersink in the end of the stem (4) of the probe, so that lateral movements of the feeler head are translated with angular movements of the probe stem.
