Packaging container of relatively strong material such as paste board or corrugated cardboard, esp. a shipping carton or collapsible case, has in =2 opposite sides tear-open lines which extend at angle w.r.t. its edges. These lines are either straight or undulatory in which latter case they may generally run parallel with the edges. In either case, there is a plastics, adhesive, tape glued along (sic) the tear-open lines. This should be sufficiently strong to enable a user to tear the package open transversely to the fibre direction of the cardboard. The tape is suitably a self-adhesive tape.
