The wires forming the basket container are welded together leaving loops at the edges through which edge-wires are threaded. The machine shaping the netting into a basket shape is cupola-shaped and pivot-mounted by means of struts around an axle, which can be raised or lowered by means of a hydraulic device. The bottom of the cup shaped mould is surrounded by a ring of U-shaped cross-section and supported by uprights resting on a frame. Around the ring are clamps with movable jaws which can be moved radially to the mould by cylinder piston units. A pivot-mounted ring in an annular intermediate piece between the ring and the uprights has an annular disc or elastic material in it, projecting above the ring. Two arms project from the top of the mould and are pivot-mounted on axles; and have at their free ends, motor-driven winches. A cutter is positioned at the bottom of the mould.
