The wire cage (13) has plastic portions comprising hook-shaped edge catches with short extension protruding at right angles from respective side edges, and a tongue provided at the free end of the extension, for attachment to the wire portions along the side edges. The edge catches are freely pushed into the wire portions to interlock with the cross-wires in the wire mesh.
