High voltage capacitor - with metal layer at front area to exhibit hollow cylindrical projections coaxial with disc axis

The design is applied to high frequency units with a large reactive capacity operating within a wide band, and whose dielectric disc (I) features hollow cylindrical projections (2, 3). Part of the end face (4) carries a metal electrode (6) which covers projection (2) while the metal electrode (7) surrounds projection (3). The parts of end faces as well as sides (8) of the disc which are not covered by the electrodes bound the inter electrode spacing. The electrodes have connecting leads (13, 14) whose apertures are used for the attachment of the capacitor, and are in the form of flanges. If the disc is made of plastic, then it can be moulded and the electrodes deposited by electroplating.
