Metal ribbon sheathing for electric cables - is coated with a lacquer based on nonplasticised vinyl (co)polychlorate

Electric cable has a continuous metal cladding about its central portion, and an external non-flame propagating layer. Specifically the external layer comprises two lacquer layers of non-plasticised PVC, one to ensure good adhesion of the metal layer to the envelope of the central portion, and the other covering the metal layer as protection to handlers of the cable. The cable is mfd. by wrapping with a metal band precoated with the lacquer.
