The coil has a magnetic core (1), and a coil body (2) surrounding the magnetic core, where the coil body has a retainer (3) for a primary coil (4) and another retainer (5) for a secondary coil (6). The former and the latter retainers are arranged one behind the other in an axial direction with respect to a coil axis (11). The primary coil is made of a ribbon cable that is coated with an electrically insulating lacquer and wound up in a radial direction, where the lacquer is a baking lacquer. The ribbon cable has a rectangular cross section, and is made of copper.
