Synergistic diamine and phenol antioxidant - based on tert. alkylene bis aryldiamines and sterically hindered phenols

The novel anti-oxidants for polymers comprise mixts. of tert. alkylene-bis-aryld. amines and sterically hindered alkyl-, aralkyl- or aryl phenols. These are present in a ratio of 90:10-10:90 (pts. wt.), esp. 80:20-20:80, respectively. They are used for protecting polymers such as rubber, polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene, etc., against ageing by heat and/or O2. the above mixt, is synergic and has the same efficiency as the physiologically dangerous sec. arylamines.
