Glass panes for vehicles with a neutral tint but having a higher transmission in the long wave region, 550-750 nm, of the visible spectrum, than in the short wave region 400-550 nm, the transmission diminishing very rapidly in the ultraviolet region. The monochromatic transmission factor decreases on average, from the long wave to the short wave region by 5-50%, whereas the total luminescent transmission factor is above 70%. In the pref. glass, the transmission between 400-550 nm is pref. 60-85% and 5-15% lower than the transmission in the region 550-750 nm which is pref. 75-90%. The pref. colouring agents used in the glass are Fe, Se, CoO, NiO, and Cr. Improved visibility and colour distinction plus better anti-dazzle properties for drivers is obtd.
