Calorimeter thermal inertia correcting system - has operational amplifiers in series, each having particular time constants

The correction circuit comprises electronic operational amplifiers and is connected to a calorimeter used for microcalorimetric studies, in order to correct for thermal inertia. Thermocouples for reference and measuring chambers are mounted with their hot and cold junctions is series. The difference (5 ct) in output voltage of measuring and reference chamber thermocouples is obtained. This voltage is applied to a correction circuit (7) amplifier (8) followed by several successive stages (7a, 7b), each having particular transfer functions. Capacitors (C16, 17) in the feedback paths filter out noise and parasitic signals having rapid variations. Ganged variable resistors (R10b, 11, 13b, 14) facilitate adjustment for scaling, while avoidind stage gain modification.
