The armoured vehicle protection equipment is particularly for tanks, and is formed by an assembly of armour plates (10, 14) mounted around the vehicle. These are extended and adjusted for angle by control devices (16, 18), typically hydraulic rams. In the case of a tracked vehicle, the plates can be mounted above the tracks in the retracted position, protecting them when extended. A drive may be provided for vibrating the plates, which can be of armour-plate steel or non-magnetic material. The design maximum inducement to ricocheting by any missiles striking the vehicle.
