Hot rolling mill with reheat furnace - heats continuously cast material for continuous charging of rolling mill

The heating arrangement is used for heating workpieces by reheat furnace of a rolling mill. The arrangement incorporates a casting process for casting of the workpieces to be rolled and also the rolling train connected directly by the heating process. Workpieces are rolled at a speed greater than that of the casting operation. Heat losses in the compact reheat furnace are reduced. The reheat furnace ensures stable operation and it is readily incorporated into a hot rolling train connected directly by the heating process. The workpieces are heated in the longitudinal direction in a first and second heating chamber of the furnace in the travelling direction of the workpieces. The first and second heating chambers are alternately charged with the workpieces arriving from the continuous casting operation. Workpieces are placed successively into the second heating chamber after the first heating chamber has been continuously charged and filled with workpieces.
