Sectional rectangular frame for boxing-out window openings - uses modular members of shallow U=section with flanges outside opening

The sectional rectangular frame is for use in boxing out openings for window and doors in building construction, and utilises modular shallow 'U' section members (1, 2) with screw-fixed (9) joints or similar. Each member (1, 2) has a plane laminar and rectangular web (3) with a right angled flanged (4, 5, 6, 7) on each edge. Corner joints are made by e.g. screwing (9) through the web (3) onto the end flange (6) of the conjunctive member. The flanges (4, 5, 6) all project in the same direction, and may project away from the opening formed by an assembled frame. The sill member may be installed with a traverse fall to shed rainwater and may be fixed by an ancillary member. The frame may make provisions for fixing ventian blinds and roller blinds. Modular sizes may give square internal frame dimensions with variation provided by fixing the head and sill members at alternative points between posts.
