Photographic Ag halide (AgX) material with improved antistatic properties contains cpd(s) (I) with mol. wt. 1000-50000 and recurring piperazine units of formula (II). In the formula, R1 and R2 are each (cyclo)alkyl, ar(alk)yl or alkenyl, or together form an alkylene gp.; R3 is 1-10C (ar)alkylene; and X1- and X2- are anions. (I) is present in an outer layer, a layer adjacent to the subbing coat and/or a layer adjacent to the outer back coat. (I) can be used in monochromatic and colour materials of various types and is esp. useful in materials developed rapidly at elevated temp.
