A pair of shaker assemblies (6) act on either side of a row of vines to be harvested. Each shaker is fixed to a vertical shaft (10a, 10b) which can turn in one direction and then in the other around its axis under the control of a motor. Each pair of shaker assemblies is driven through a system of rods by a crank whose shaft is inserted between the two assemblies and is driven in rotation. This shaft is spring biassed to a central position and can move laterally.
