The roller skate has two wheels, one at the front and another oththe rear. Each is in the form of a wide roller, its sides recessed and its axle mounted within a U-shaped bracket. the baseplate is in two parts, sliding together and adjustable before being locked to form a single unit. Each wheel bracket is fixed to the baseplate by means of a cantilever mount and a pad to flexible rubber is provided between baseplate and bracket. The pads provide a limited degree of sideways oscillation when cornering.
