ACTIVE REACTOR COMPRISING ROTATING COLUMN WITH IMMOBILIZED ENZYME

PURPOSE:To make it easy to wash, dehydrate, and preserve immobilized enzymes, by using a reactor comprising orifices attached to a rotating hollow shaft surrounded by rotating columns. CONSTITUTION:The orifices 1 are formed on the hollow shaft 2 containing the divided chambers 6 for immobilized enzymes. The screen 7 is spread on the chambers 6 to retain the enzymes. The shaft 2 has the screen 8 to disperse the solution jetted from the orifices 1. The liquid to be treated is passed through the pipe 4, jetted from the orifices 1, dispersed by the screen 8, and fed to the chambers 6. For washing the immobilized enzymes, ion exchange water or buffer is jetted from the orifices 1 in a given amount, and the columns are rotated clokwise or counterclockwise to take out the washings. The same operation is repeated thereafter.
