Displacement signals #Z, #Z 2 from a first bogie and #Z 3 , #Z 4 from a second bogie are combined by difference formers 16, 17, 18 to give a skew signal S which is employed to actuate the lateral tilting system of the body. An analogous arrangement may be used to detect the skew relationship between two axles on the same bogie.
