Layer of practically transparent organic polymer has attached to it a coupling layer of crosslinked acrylic polymer, to which a metal film adheres. This gives a laminate of optical transparency (measured with perpendicular incident light of wavelength 550 m mu) of 40% and a surface resistivity of is not 107 ohms. The supporting polymer layer is pref. polyethylene terephthalate, and the metal layer Pd, Al, Au, Ni, Cr or Ni-Cr alloy. The coupling layer is pref. composed of methyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, and methacrylic acid, crosslinked with an amine-formaldehyde resin. The transparent laminate is pref. coated with a polymeric material such as a vinyl acetate/vinyl chloride copolymer over the metal, possibly with a photoconductor dispersed in it. Transparent electroconductors are used in electrophotographic processes. Those of the present invention are characterised by good adherence between layer sand resistance to abrasion.
