Theophylline antigenes and antibodies, process for their preparation, their use in the determination of theophylline; test kit and antiserum for this use

It has been found that for the determination of small amounts of theophylline in biological fluids including whole blood and haemolytic blood by the immunoassay method, antibodies are advantageously suitable which are obtained by injecting antigens consisting of theophylline-7-alkane carboxylic acids bound to immunogenic carriers via the carboxyl group to be obtained in host animals. The theophylline-7-alkanecarboxamides iodinated with radioactive iodine isotopes with histamine, tyramine and tyrosine, as well as enzyme- and fluorescence-labeled theophylline derivatives are particularly suitable as labeled theophylline.
