Railway vehicle desired speed determination for automatic braking - using stopping distance data telegram from central station to start comparison of actual and desired speeds

The desired speed value is determined digitally for automatic target braking of electrical railway vehicles. The braking distance telemetered to the vehicle from a central control station influences the comparison between actual and desired speeds. Comparison is performed until the vehicle reaches a defined distance from a stopping point. - The comparison is initiated on receipt of data from the central station giving the stopping distance. The desired speed is continuously adjusted to the received stopping distance. The desired speed counter is corrected for constant or increasing stopping distances.
