The direction finder uses single antennas located on a circular arc and connected together to generate a rotating direction pattern. A delay network contg. by-pass lines sets the main group beam directions and drives a switching matrix to scan neighbouring antennas by steps. A computer compares the antenna signals with the theoretical antenna group radiation field to give the bearing error. The direction patterns of several main beam directions are simultaneously evaluated so that a single antenna may belong to only one group at any time.
