The operating-shaft consists of a circular cross-sectioned hollow section (53), with holes let into the shaft surface (59). The holes are sealed towards the inside (57) of the shaft by welded pockets (55, 56). The pockets are of a size to enable the implements (14) held on rods (59) to swing through the space inside them. The curved sheet-metal base (56) and side walls (55) prevent impurities getting into the inside of the shaft (57). Disc-shaped bearings (20) are welded to the parts to which the rods (49) are fixed, to reinforce the sides. The machine can be used for forestry, being either tractor towed or self driven.
