The pliable inner shoe (1) has a flexible sole and a flexible upper in the areas (5,6) of the ball and heel of the foot. The parts (7-9) of the upper lying between the flexible parts are rigid so that now the flexible and rigid parts are set relative to each other allowing the sole to bend for normal walking action. For alpine skiing the flexible sole (2) of the inner shoe can be inserted into the rigid sole (4) of the overshoe (3) to which it is fixed by rigid interconnected parts.
