Automatic vending machine has a coin tripping mechanism and a number of push buttons to control ejection of different packed goods depending on the coins inserted. After coin insertion a blocking device blocks all the buttons except the one corresponding to the value of the coins inserted. Drying button operation the selected goods are ejected and the coin tripping mechanism is opened to transfer the coins into a register and then closed. The ejector and the tripping mechanism have a blocking device which prevents operation of the ejector (14, 18) if a heavy blow is applied to a blocked button (11) and prevents closing of the tripping mechanism (57) is a heavy blow is applied to a released button.
