New dibenzofuranyloxy-alkanoic acid derivs. are of formula (I): In (I) R' is halogen, opt. halo-substd. 1-4 C alkyl or alkoxy, CN or NO2; R2 and R3 are H, halogen, opt. halo-substd. 1-4 C alkyl or alkoxy, CN or NO2; R4 and R5 are H, CH3 or -COOR7; R6 is -(CH2)n-R8 or -CH=CH-R8; R7 is H, Na, K, NH4, mono-, di- or trialkylammonium or 1-8 C alkyl; R8 is -COOR9, -CN or -CO-NR10R11; R9 is H, Na, K, NH4, mono-, di- or trialkylammonium or 1-8 C alkyl; R10 and R11 are H, 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or phenyl or phenyl substd. by halogen, alkyl or CF3; and n is 0, 1 or 2. (I) are herbicides showing good herbicidal activity while being well tolerated by certain crop plants.
