Flame tube for oil low output burner - has two equally thin parts split around flame-holder and joined by thin spacers

The flame tube for a low output oil burner has the usual arrangement of the fuel line (2), atomising nozzle (1) and annular flame holder (3) coaxially centrally located inside a cylindrical duct (7). This duct is necked (9), forming with the flame holder an annular nozzle (8) for the axial airflow (X). A radial slot through the throat of this neck permits re-entry of furnace gas (Y, Z) immediately downstream of the flameholder. The duct is made from relatively thin, uniform thickness sheet. The portion downstream of the radial slot is supported by parallel spacer strips of duct material.
