The motor has an axial air-gap and a solid armature of a magnetically soft material, with slots on its surface facing the air-gap. A cast conductor is placed in each slot, and each end of the conductor is connected to an inner or an outer ring. The slots are open at the rotor core (9) ends, and are a little wider at the top than at the bottom. A lining (13) of soft magnetic material is provided in the slots, extending over their whole length. It forms a elongated space for the winding bar.
